Hi and thanks to Mark, Laird and Bill By one of those weird coincidences, my dual boot machine died yesterday, so this is no longer academic. After studying all suggestions, I'm going to classify Whine with Windoze and go with Virtualbox 4.0. Since that was only released 12/22, the fine print shows that is a major change from 3.xx and doesn't cleanly upgrade, I may wait a bit to see if a Synaptics loader appears or Ubuntu user group posts raise any concerns about installation problems. I'll load XP and see if Legacy 6 appears to run identically to the copy on the laptop, then whether 6 and 7.5 can coexist on Virtualbox.
