Dennis,

I think that V4 has the file repair facility, so I would try first File>File
Maintenance>Check/Repair, and repeat until no corrections are shown.

If that doesn’t work I’m afraid that you may have to unlink and relink. Strange
that it should happen to both your parents though.

Subject: [LegacyUG] Lost the link to siblings in Legacy 4.0

Howdy,

I am using Windows XP. I have 512 mb ram. I have 120 gb hard drive that is
about ½ full. I am running Legacy 4.0 with its latest updates.. (I know it is
old – so am I, and I am doing just fine. bg.) I have approx. 3000 individuals
and 800 families.

My Problem: Somehow I have disconnected my mother and father from their
siblings. When I am in “Family View,” if I click on either set of my
grandparents, my mom and dad are the ONLY child showing. Each of them should
have several siblings. If I continue up, by clicking on my great grandparents,
and then back to my grandparents ALL the children EXCEPT my parents show up.

If I go to the “Name List” and click on either set of grandparents, then all of
the other siblings show up, but NOT my parents.

My dad only has one rin (3) and my mother has only one rin (400).

I tried to “merge”, but there is only one rin number for them.

I thought about “linking” them to the parents, but they already are. The only
option is to “unlink” and I don’t think I want to do that.
