G'day Barbara.

I too was a Generation fan. I wish Legacy Charting did an enhanced hourglass
chart - all blood relatives - like Generations.

I have a web page at http://www.foxcrofts.com/family/index.htm. There is a file
there http://www.foxcrofts.com/family/Text/Generations%20to%20Legacy.pdf how I
converted from Generations to Legacy some years ago.

In Generations you can attach sources to parts of a note. This goes in every
other software.

I got pretty much all my data across - also about 2000 people.

Hello

I am new to this group and Legacy but not new to Genealogy and now have almost
2000 people in my tree. Like many others I have loved the Generations software
and have nursed it through many versions of Windows (now Windows 7) and it is
no longer reliable enough to not have another program plus the newer software
has other advantages. I chose Legacy because it most reminded me of
Generations in it family card! Having transferred a Gedcom from Generations to
Legacy I find that despite telling it to put data it does not know where to put
into notes it is not transferring the memo field and I have a lot of
information in there (for example) for the memo associated with a death I have
put cause of death. Also in my Generations notes I have put sources next to
particular pieces of information and these associations have not transferred.

Apologies to the vast majority of users who will not be interested but I am
hoping that some people have done this recently enough to remember any fixes
and might be able to help.

Regards
