If you are asking about “File, Compact”, then this should be done whenever you 
have done a lot adding, deleting and/or editing.



This does NOT compress (which is different to compact) file as one would do in 
making a zip file.

Hmm! That bodes another question.  At what point should we be compressing the 
files?  What does this do?  I thought it was the compressed files that I could 
not transfer to my thumb drive or to my other computers whenever I tried it.
