This is just not friendly at all! You have access to SW in the past, now an upgrade to 7.5 is keeping your data hostage!? Nice!
You suggested you'd prefer to switch over to the basic anyway. Have you tried exporting your individual as a GEDCOM, then reimporting? Perhaps the export will NOTY try forcing you to upgrade to get access to your own data, and actually export ALL your sources. If it does, you can turn around and import that individual and sources, which should now be in a Basic format. You'll want to clean them up I'm sure, and delete one or the other of the duplicate individuals and sources. Not sure if this is more work than just doing them all over again by hand or not.
