Thanks for your reply and validation.  I respect your input.

Of course I would maintain using File IDs in the manner described is
the only legitimate manner to cross-reference materials/individuals
consistent with a public library system, but this isn't the forum for
that debate. ;D

Regardless, the means to make this cross-reference possible should be
part of Legacy or any other leading genealogy program.  Clooz, an
ancillary program known to many, made a stab at this function but fell
short.

I'll submit as an enhancement as you suggested.  I don't believe I'm
the lone soldier of thousands who would find this capability useful.
