Dennis, Have I tried a reset on the report options? It is set to "reset to Off 
each time the report menu is opened"; is that what you mean?

I hope the .usr file isn't corrupt because I'm not confident about correcting 
it.

Thanks for the reminder that just because it is grayed out it doesn't mean they 
are available.  Perhaps it was wishful thinking on my part.

Have you tried a reset on the report options? If that doesn't work then
deleting the report's .usr file might help.

Just because the options are listed for a report doesn't mean they are
actually available. That is usually what it means when you see the
options "grayed" out (unclickable). But a corrupt .usr file has also
been known to cause this.
