Access is the front-end (gui) to the underlying Jet database engine, which hasn't had a significant update since 2003. So products like Access 2010 are just glitz (i.e. "lipstick on a pig"). Jet is considered deprecated technology and is only being maintained by MS because of the broad user base. It is still pretty handy for single-user desktop application development. But MS has moved on to newer products like SQL Server Express. -- Dennis Kowallek (LTools) http://zippersoftware.com/ltools/index.htm http://groups.yahoo.com/group/ltools Legacy User Group guidelines: http://www.LegacyFamilyTree.com/Etiquette.asp Archived messages after Nov. 21 2009: http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]/ Archived messages from old mail server - before Nov. 21 2009: http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]/ Online technical support: http://www.LegacyFamilyTree.com/Help.asp To unsubscribe: http://www.LegacyFamilyTree.com/LegacyLists.asp
