Hi,
Click on the marriage event in family view, this brings up the ‘marriage information’ screen. Click on the icon near the top that looks like a house. Brings up the address screen (same one used for individuals and events). Just one caution. Legacy is more advanced in this area than other genealogical applications. For example, FTM and Roots Magic do not have addresses associated with marriages (or events for that matter). If you are creating a GEDCOM, Legacy will properly export the address, but the receiving application may ignore it or garble it. If you put the full address in the location field, you are pretty well assured that it will be preserved on transfer to others. That may or may not be a concern for you. Paul From: Kathy Jones [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: February-19-11 11:56 AM To: [email protected] Subject: [LegacyUG] Address for marriages in Legacy Is there an option to add an “exact address” for a marriage in Legacy. For example, in burials you can add the address but for marriages you don’t have that option so you have to add the address in the location field which then adds numerous new locations to the location master list. If someone is married at home, for example, you would have to add the location as 123 anywhere street, name of city, name of country rather than city, country and then the exact address in a marriage address listing (as you do with burials). I am in the process of cleaning up master lists and noticed this anomaly for marriages. If there are suggestions as to how to (a) have the exact address for the marriage and (b) not have it entered as a location in the master list, I would appreciate any suggestions. Thanks.
