I always include the entire obit as an event with the newspaper details as the source. I want to be able to review the obit in my database and printed reports for clues, and family and other researches wish to see the information. Bottom line: all should do what works best for them.

Just my personal process - I would treat an obituary like I do a census because of the information included in it. I create an event and add all of the details from it, i.e., I would transcribe the entire obituary. Then I would use the copy/paste event feature to add it to everyone else it mentioned.
