Graham,

I had not noticed this before, and it's not just the Given Name BTW., it
applies to the whole of the AKA. I don't think that this is a Legacy
problem, but that of GEDxlate. I use a GEDCOM for the creation of my
One-Name pages and an AKA is correctly shown as an alternative name. The
NICK tag is used for a name included in quotes in the main name.

Subject: [LegacyUG] Alternate names problem

Hi all, hope I explain this little problem adequately.

When I add an 'alternate' name from the Family view screen in Legacy,
(via the AKA icon), a popup box appears, and that alternate name has to
be added in the "Given name" area. Shouldn't that be "Alternate" or
"Nick" name area. Because now, when I convert a gedcom via GEDxlate to
excel (XLate to MS Excel) that "Given name" area appears in the Excel
spreedsheet in place of their real names? Am I doing something wrong?

Thanks for any pointers,
Graham
