Nira, If I understand what you are trying to do, you may have to tag a list after only searching for Individual>Death Place>contains"county name". When you have tagged the list do an "only search the search list" for Individual>Event Name>equal to>"event Name" and untag these people.
The search that you used will find individuals who do have the event name because they have more than one event and one of them is not the "event name" you are looking for. bgj -----Original Message----- From: Nira Chambliss [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: Tuesday, April 12, 2011 4:26 PM To: [email protected] Subject: [LegacyUG] Searching for missing events Hello, I am trying to create a list that contains individuals who do not have a particular event AND who live in a particular county. Right now I'm entering in Search - Find - Detailed Search - Individual - Event Name - Not Equal To - "event name" checking Second Condition - AND Individual - Death Place - Contains - "county name" checking Clear List before this search What returns is a mixed bag ... all died in the given county, but some have the event and others do not. I can successfully use this if I change Not Equal To to Equal, which gives me everyone in my database who has the event and lives in a given county. Why is this not working for Not Equal To - any suggestions? If this isn't how to do this to obtain such list, any suggestions on how I might obtain the list I want? Thank you!
