Brian, thanks for your reply. I double checked my setup (have 8 point
minimum rather than 6) and tried to send you an attached word screen shot with
an example where the 'Born' and 'Died' label size differs from the actual
data size. That email bounced due to the 200 kb limit. Please advise if I
should send the example to another email address.

Thanks - Dave T

Dave,

If you are thinking only of font size you need to be aware that Legacy
will usually adjust the size of the font based on the height of the
screen that is open. This is controlled by the "stretch fonts when
re-sizing" setting on the Options > Customize > Fonts Tab.

If there is a check mark in that setting then font size will grow or
shrink based on the height of your screen. If the check mark is removed
then Legacy will use the current font size at the time the check mark is
removed as a fixed size.

You should also know that there are two font sizes specified for the
screen fonts, a maximum and a minimum. The font size on the screens will
not be smaller than the minimum size but can expand to the max. The
defaults for these are 6 and 99. I believe those are measured in points
where there are 72 points/inch.

Your statement about different font sizes for labels and data is not, in
my experience, true. On any given screen the font size for labels and
data are the same. The screen options only select the fonts for those
parts so any apparent difference in size is probably due the variations
between fonts. Labels and data can use different fonts and the defaults
are Arial for the labels and Times New Roman for data.
