Julia:

As with many things in Legacy, it's your choice whether to put data in Events,
Source Detail, or both. I do transcribe the whole family's census listing into
the source citation because I want it to appear in the Source Notes. With the
report format that I use most, Event information prints in an area that I
consider disruptive (although the option to print them at all can be turned
off). The best way to decide is to try both, preview some of the reports you
expect to use with various options selected, and see which results you prefer.

Subject: [LegacyUG] Entering census data/sources

I'm on a roll to clean up my sources! I have a question about entering data for
census.

I've seen in a few examples that the data from the census line is typed into
the census event field (e.g. BROWN, David, w, m, 33, etc.)

Why is it typed here and why wouldn't this be typed into the detail source text?

Just wondering how others do this procedure...

Thanks, Julia
