I finally talked a dear friend of mine (my husband’s cousin-in-law) into trying Legacy. She was using an obsolete program that isn’t even in business anymore. I exported and then imported her file as a GEDCOM. What a mess it is! She has nothing consistent or standardized. She has text in date fields and none all of her locations are all messed up. I have been trying to teach her the right way to record her stuff. Anyway, I promised I would clean up her file so that she could start out on the right foot. Thank goodness she only has 1800 people! (Actually a few less than that since I have to delete some duplicates). I really appreciate all of the built in tools Legacy has. I can't imagine doing this without Legacy.
