Neither would I use 'of'. To me, seeing it in a record or source is like
scraping nails on a blackboard. It has medieval overtones, of the days before
'normal' people had surnames. As Jenny, and others, have suggested: a note
attached to the marriage itself (if it happened) or, if you must, a Residence 
event.
