There is one big advantage to having your Legacy related pictures outside your My Documents Picture folder. The true path to the My Documents and Pictures folders have changed with different versions of Windows and can change if you purchase a new computer since the user name on the new computer may differ from the one on your current machine. The user name is also part of the full path name.
Legacy stores the full path name so changes in the path from windows to windows version or because of a change of user name will mean that Legacy cannot find your pictures.
