I'm all for saving typing too and I use the excellent free program FreeClip

http://m8software.com/clipboards/freeclip/freeclip.htm

which allows the copying and pasting of numerous pieces of text (and does
a lot more than that) and speeds up my entering of Source Citations no
end.
