My ancestors were all very poor, and most lived below the radar. With
my father's family, I feel lucky to have gotten
to 1850 in one line. In my mother's it is easier. Her mother was from
a group of Bucks County people who actually owned land. I can get my
father's mother to a ship manifest, and that is it. Good for all those
people who can go back farther, but
a lot of us cannot. I feel very lucky to have 1200.
