Louise,
First I would create the master source for the “Carpenter’s Log Book” or the 
name of the person's log book. Then I would create a travel event for each of 
the ship’s he sailed on with their destinations and the name of the ship. Then 
I would cite the new master source you created and then on the details screen, 
list the pages that showed that information on.

Subject: [LegacyUG] entering and sourcing a seaman's log book

My husband's grandfather was a ship's carpenter out of England in the early 
1900s and we have his actual log book covering his trips from 1905 to 1912. It 
shows the details of the ships he sailed on, their dates and places of 
departure and discharge, where they went, and what he sailed as.  Now how do I 
enter and source this?
