I agree with those who do not take the label "AKA"literally. When I hover the cursor over the AKA icon, the sticky note thatappears reads "add or edit other names or spellings." I enter anyvariation that may have any value to me or others down the road.
Just recently I figured out that in Ireland -- at least whenand where my family comes from -- the baptismal records are in Latin, notEnglish. I also figured out that Owen, which was my great-grandfather's name,is the Welsh variant for the Latin "Eugenius". You bet I recordedEugenius as an AKA even though no one ever called him anything but Owen. Buthis church records are all under Eugenius. However, minor scrivener's errorswhich are patently obvious I do not record. -Jack Legacy User Group guidelines: http://www.LegacyFamilyTree.com/Etiquette.asp Archived messages after Nov. 21 2009: http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]/ Archived messages from old mail server - before Nov. 21 2009: http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]/ Online technical support: http://www.LegacyFamilyTree.com/Help.asp Follow Legacy on Facebook (http://www.facebook.com/LegacyFamilyTree) and on our blog (http://news.LegacyFamilyTree.com).
