If the data is identical from one source citation to another, an argument can be made that it is by definition a single citation. It would be so nice if we could create a single citation and then link it to multiple people, fields and/or events. I think a census entry provides a good example of where a single citation linked to multiple people, fields, and events would be helpful. Let us say one created a citation for an entire family from a census, and used that to document residence, age and occupation for all family members. Using a single citation which is then linked to multiple people/events, one can explicitly see which individuals and events are related to that census entry. With the current design, one needs to look for 'identical', separate citations. Although it would probably require database changes and is therefore not something we would see soon, I hope Legacy will consider it in a future release.
