It is really the UNSPECIFIED field where you can list a source as applying to the entire record as a whole and not to a specific part of the record. It is useful for those of us who first want to put the primary source down when a new person is added, then later add sources to the specific fields like name, birth, etc., as other sources become available or if there are differences. --Jerry / http://www.MerriamFamilyTree.org On 8/17/2011 6:23 PM, Virginia Dunham wrote: > Pardon my ignorance, but could someone kindly explain just what is an > "Unspecified Source?" ...and when is this used? > Thanking you in advance. > Virginia Legacy User Group guidelines: http://www.LegacyFamilyTree.com/Etiquette.asp Archived messages after Nov. 21 2009: http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]/ Archived messages from old mail server - before Nov. 21 2009: http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]/ Online technical support: http://www.LegacyFamilyTree.com/Help.asp Follow Legacy on Facebook (http://www.facebook.com/LegacyFamilyTree) and on our blog (http://news.LegacyFamilyTree.com).
