Thanks for that, Byron, but I probably did not explain well exactly what
I'm trying to accomplish.  What you described I thought of, but it won't
work (I don't think) because I'm not actually combining two different
source names together.   What I'm doing is transferring or moving the
one source name, which is the book called Merriam Genealogy in England
and America, from the NAME field into the UNSPECIFIED field instead.
But along with the transfers, I also have to cut and paste the detail
that goes along with it to indicate the proper page numbers from the
book.   But thanks for the suggestion.   I have used that to combine
duplicate type sources into one source and it does work well.
