Other than using Access, I can only think of one thing which would speed
up the process a little, but is not of any use to you because you have
already started to move the Source from Name to Unspecified.  However,
FWIW I'll mention it.

First make a copy of the Source and give the copy a different name.
Using Copy (once) and Paste (many, many times!) add the re-named version
of the Source to the Unspecified field for each individual.  Then delete
the original version of the Source.

(Note, this assumes you want to delete ALL instances of the original
Source.)

You still need to visit every record to paste the Source into the
Unspecified field, but you don't have to spend extra time removing the
old Source from each record.
