I am happy to accept the need for work/discussion to be carried out
off-list. However, when something is reported which involves the loss of
data, I feel it is important that we know the cause and/or how to avoid the
problem. The implication from your response is that since it is not due to
the o/s, it can happen to anyone, this is of considerable concern, at least
to me.

I would ask, therefore that the outcome of the work be disclosed to LUG
readers.

Legacy *is* compatible with 64-bit Vista and Win7.  You have an
entirely different issue, not related to the OS.
