Sherry, Today I copied the set of usr files I had made a little while ago into my Legacy folder - and hey presto I now have all my settings as they were. Very strange that the settings didn't transfer over when I simply copied the whole Legacy folder over to Legacy on my new machine. All is now well though. And I'll go he for tiggy - because Passage Express installed with no problems today! Cheers Jan

First of all - you need to install Legacy on the new computer, not just copy the complete folder over. Make sure you install it as per the isntructions on our website at www.LegacyFamilyTree.com/helpWindows7andVista.asp. The usr files are in the c:\Legacy folder. Those can be copied over after installing Legacy on the new machine. They hold your settings and preferences for reports, views, etc. The Legacy.usr file holds the main settings in Options > Customize and some other locations. A list of the usr files and what they're for can be found in the Help file in Legacy under "usr files" 2. Passage Express should run fine under 64-bit Win7. If you have problems with that program, you will need to contact their support by going to their website at http://www.passageexpress.com/support.php and filling out their web form. 3. Legacy Charting installs with Legacy. You don't need to install that separately. There are times when it does need to be reinstalled or installed separately if you don't have Legacy installed on your computer.
