Best Fit was really great. Hadn't noticed they had added another selection.
And the way to add more kids by clicking on the a s d etc. up pops a very interesting window that I will explore As for the date.... I did notice my calendar was lite up but nothing in it helped but I know it is not usually lite. Yes, I used the slash when adding a birth date as '7 Jan 1693/4' but came out as 1693/94. I have used that form before with no problem. How would I check on the correcting that? How would I turn it off? Thanks to all that helped. Is it possible that Legacy is converting what you type into either the British or American format for dates, depending on which you are meaning to use. What I mean is, are you typing something like 12/01/1800 (meaning December 1st (American style) and what is appearing is 12 January (British style)? Or vice versa. -----Original Message----- From: Virginia Dunham <[email protected]> To: LegacyUserGroup <[email protected]> Sent: Wed, Sep 21, 2011 3:54 pm Subject: Re: [LegacyUG] Date won't change and slide for more children is gone Beth, >From the family view: Click letter "a" (for add) then click the letter "s" (for son) or letter "d" for daughter...a pop box opens to add either a new person or an existing one...choose "new" and the "child's information" view opens. When you have finished adding your information, click "save"...and you will see your information on a new "page" for entering children. It is the slide at the end of the children's list in the family view on the right side. When I have more children that the 3 section list of children will handle, by opening the slide I can add more children. It is just gone. -----Original Message----- From: Mike Fry <[email protected]> To: LegacyUserGroup <[email protected]> Sent: Wed, Sep 21, 2011 3:10 pm Subject: Re: [LegacyUG] Date won't change and slide for more children is gone On 2011/09/21 23:53, Beth wrote: I am unable to change a birth date even after I delete what is there and add correct date, the orginial date will pop in again and delete the new date. > And the slide that allows more children has dissappeared. Just not there. I am afraid I caused all this by trying to change an item I read on the list here. I presume that you are referring to the horizontal scroll-bar at the bottom of he Children portion of the Family tab? If not what and where - we would prefer indow titles. If you right-click on a child's name, a context menu pops up. lick on View and select the option that is most appropriate to you. -- egards, ike Fry ohannesburg egacy User Group guidelines: ttp://www.LegacyFamilyTree.com/Etiquette.asp rchived messages after Nov. 21 2009: ttp://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]/ rchived messages from old mail server - before Nov. 21 2009: ttp://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]/ nline technical support: http://www.LegacyFamilyTree.com/Help.asp ollow Legacy on Facebook (http://www.facebook.com/LegacyFamilyTree) and on our log (http://news.LegacyFamilyTree.com). o unsubscribe: http://www.LegacyFamilyTree.com/LegacyLists.asp Legacy User Group guidelines: http://www.LegacyFamilyTree.com/Etiquette.asp Archived messages after Nov. 21 2009: http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]/ Archived messages from old mail server - before Nov. 21 2009: http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]/ Online technical support: http://www.LegacyFamilyTree.com/Help.asp Follow Legacy on Facebook (http://www.facebook.com/LegacyFamilyTree) and on our blog (http://news.LegacyFamilyTree.com).
