Entering a date as dd Mmm yyyy/zz makes Legacy assume that you're entering a double-dated date. This is controlled by the double-dating options on the Dates page of the options. To get Legacy to accept a date in this format, the first year *must* be before 1752. In the case of 17 Jun 1938-9, you are entering a date range in which the second date is the year 0009. I think you should re-read the helpfile topic "Entering Dates in Date Fields", where a whole lot of information and suggestions can be found. -- Regards, Mike Fry Johannesburg Legacy User Group guidelines: http://www.LegacyFamilyTree.com/Etiquette.asp Archived messages after Nov. 21 2009: http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]/ Archived messages from old mail server - before Nov. 21 2009: http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]/ Online technical support: http://www.LegacyFamilyTree.com/Help.asp Follow Legacy on Facebook (http://www.facebook.com/LegacyFamilyTree) and on our blog (http://news.LegacyFamilyTree.com).
