Ok... enough discussion about email format and programs.... Suffice to say, there are the list rules of no attachments (which includes embedding graphics inline).
The rule for no HTML was lifted so it's "ok" but it's still preferable to send emails in plain text, not only for security but also to respect the listers who are on limited bandwidth (HTML emails are larger) and those who wish to block HTML. I have yet to find an email program which doesn't allow plain text..... even web mail. It might take some digging but it's there.
