No, it's not a bug. You are forgetting that a computer takes "what you say" absolutely literally. If you tell it you want to look for 1959 in a certain field, the computer will look for EXACTLY that, 1959. It will not look for 01 January 1959 or 25 December 1959. If you are using Detailed Search you must have "Contains" in the How to look field - this means that Legacy looks at the entire contents of the field for the string of digits 1959. I THINK Search by Example will not allow you to search for just part of a full date, but I might be wrong. -- Jenny M Benson Legacy User Group guidelines: http://www.LegacyFamilyTree.com/Etiquette.asp Archived messages after Nov. 21 2009: http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]/ Archived messages from old mail server - before Nov. 21 2009: http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]/ Online technical support: http://www.LegacyFamilyTree.com/Help.asp Follow Legacy on Facebook (http://www.facebook.com/LegacyFamilyTree) and on our blog (http://news.LegacyFamilyTree.com).
