Yes, I do that. I also put it in the Master Source List.  But either way, I
can't readily identify that its a source that I have reviewed, but has no
information on my ancester.  Sometimes, I put aside research on a family and
work on someone else.  It may be months or even the next year before I pick it
back up.  Then, as I begin planning the next steps in my research, I sometimes
identify the same source that has already been reviewed.  I guess I am looking
for a easy to identify method to flag a source to indicate it doesn't have data
on that ancestor.

I believe the most common method is to list searching the particular resource as
a To Do item, marking it as done, but not deleting it from the list.

Subject: [LegacyUG] How to record sources that don't have relevant information
Unfortunately I've wasted a lot of time over the years going back and looking at
the same sources that didn't contain any relevant information on one of my
ancestors because I didn't have a good way of recording and tracking it.  I'd
like to create a list, by individual, of all the "empty" sources I've reviewed
so that when I go to the library to do research I can check to see if I've
looked at that resource previously.  How do you handle this?
Thanks
Jan
