Ray, I had this problem when I first transferred my data file to Legacy and began using it. I found a way without issuing a separate report. What I did was the following:
1. click on the Index tab. 2. Click on the "Customs" button located near the upper, right-hand area of the page. 3. Select "Customize Columns" and a window opens labeled "Index View Columns." 4. Under the column entitled "Field Name" pick an empty line and click on the button to the right having the three dotes (a.k.a. elipse) in it. From the "Field Names to Display" list which will appear, select "Living". 5. This will add a column to each person in your index and will either show "Yes" or "No" as to whether or not the person is shown in your database as living. 6. Then I sorted the index by RIN number as it was easier for me to keep track of each entry as I reviewed them when the list was arranged numberically and I could write down the number when I broke away from the task so that I'd know where to pick up when I returned to the task. 7. If the person should have been dead (a.k.a. "No") but was still showing as living (a.k.a. "Yes"), I would change it and move on to the the next person in the list. For these people Legacy entered them as living which excludes them from reports excluding living people, even though they are long dead. Is there a way to generate a report that lists only living people that can be used as a guide for correcting these errors?
