Well, now I'm confused a little about this naming convention. I understand there are different points of view over this subject, so I'm not trying to stir anything up--just trying to figure which one works best for me.
If I have a place name set up: , county, state, country [where I don't actually use the word 'county' after the county name] Then, when I go to generate a report and I leave off the leading commas, how do I know that the first word is the name of the county and not the name of a city? Or *I* may know this type of naming convention but if I give a report to someone not familiar with this, how would this not confuse them? BTW. there’s no ‘should’ about the format, unless you wish to be tied to the four-field location convention - the choice is yours. Go to Reports>Report Options>format. Check or uncheck “Remove leading commas”. Will it always print like that (with all the commas in reports (or is there a way to turn empty place fields off--I haven't searched for that yet)?
