I just mentioned changing the data structure of the databaseas as one way of accomplishing enhancement #4. But there is a way to do enhancement #4 that does not involve changing the way the databse is structured, so I agree with you Dennis.
I have found the search and replace feature to be tricky to use (please everyone, do not turn this thread into a discussion on search and replace). At any rate, my issues are not asociated with just replacing a word or two. I am wanting to add analysis paragraphs to the comments field of all of my source citations/details. Typing it in one source citation/detail and haveing it automatically update all of the other cource citations/details that are copies of it would save hundreds of hours. The four enhancements I recommended are not really a new feature, but just make the existing Advanced Sourcing feature complete. Also, looking at the database tables, it looks like these enhancements would be reltively easy to develop. Legacy does not need these 4 enhancements to keep many of its existing users. It needs these enhancements to keep some of its existing users. But more importantly, it needs these enhancements to pull market share from Family Tree Maker and Roots Magic, its two biggest commercial competetors. New users importing their data from other genealogy programs will need these enhancements to make cleaning up their data easier. I see this as a business decision. Low cost enhancements, big potential market share impact. Lee ---- "Dennis M.
