Thank you so much Jenny - it works. My error was not looking in the data file. I thought I had but didn't realise I needed to go into explorer to access the data. I had tried the search the computer option and that didn't work either. Now I'm right and will make some notes so I don't forget. None of this is explained in the book or on the Legacy help - only how to set it up but not where to find it.
I am indebted to you. Hope your weekend is a good one wherever you are! When I did it, when I clicked on "Select Filename and start export" the Save dialog box opened at C:\Legacy\Gedcoms and I saved it there, but that could be a folder I created rather than a standard Legacy-created one. If you go to File>Export to>Gedcom file... now and just click on the "Select filename and start export" button (without bothering to select anything else) you will get the Save dialog box and at the top it will show what folder it is looking at and you should see your recently saved Gedcom. Back out without saving anything. -- Jenny M Benson Legacy User Group guidelines: http://www.LegacyFamilyTree.com/Etiquette.asp Archived messages after Nov. 21 2009: http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]/ Archived messages from old mail server - before Nov. 21 2009: http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]/ Online technical support: http://www.LegacyFamilyTree.com/Help.asp Follow Legacy on Facebook (http://www.facebook.com/LegacyFamilyTree) and on our blog (http://news.LegacyFamilyTree.com).
