Jenny, You should NEVER enter the same person twice in the database. Imagine the difficulty of remembering to update each one when you find new data for them.
The correct way to show a person as a child of more than one set of parents is to LINK the child to the two sets of parents. Once they are properly linked then you can identify the relationship to the father and relationship to the mother for each set of parents. Select the child that has both biological and adoptive or step parents Note which set of parents are currently shown Click on the parent icon below the individual The list of parents will appear If you know the other set of parents are already in the file click the Link to Existing Parents button The Marriage list will open and you can select the second set of parents.
