I too use and would suggest Dropbox. I also fully endorse Bruce’s comments on
usage. To put it another way: do not have Legacy open on two (or more)
computers at the same time.

Subject: Re: [LegacyUG] Keeping files updated and in sync

I use Dropbox on my desktop, my laptop, and my netbook. My Legacy file is
current on all of them no matter which I use to update Legacy.
One caution is that you need to make sure you close Legacy and give enough time
for Dropbox to upload your changed Legacy file and download it to the other
computer(s) before opening Legacy on them (usually just a few seconds depending
on the speed of your network connection). I have been using Dropbox for this
purpose for quite some time and I am very pleased with the result.

I have the Legacy program on my laptop and my desk top. Is there a way to
keep the two files in sync when I update on one and not the other?

Also is there a way to keep it updated when I add something to my Ancestry
tree online and want to add the same information to my file on my computer
without retyping everything?

  Thanks,
