Gail,

This is entirely your choice, but if I am right in assuming that the files
which you wish to synchronise are your family files, then they are the ones
with the extension ‘.fdb’, usually found in your C:\Legacy\Data folder.

Thanks for all the suggestions of using Dropbox. I have downloaded it on my
laptop and will be adding it to my desktop in a while. Exactly which file of
Legacy to you save to Dropbox or how is it that I go about using it?

Thanks again,

Gail

I use Dropbox on my desktop, my laptop, and my netbook. My Legacy file is
current on all of them no matter which I use to update Legacy.
One caution is that you need to make sure you close Legacy and give enough time
for Dropbox to upload your changed Legacy file and download it to the other
computer(s) before opening Legacy on them (usually just a few seconds depending
on the speed of your network connection). I have been using Dropbox for this
purpose for quite some time and I am very pleased with the result.

keep the two files in sync when I update on one and not the other?

Also is there a way to keep it updated when I add something to my Ancestry
tree online and want to add the same information to my file on my computer
without retyping everything?

  Thanks,
