Russ, I did think of that but I don’t think that is what Debbie is looking for as it gives both maternal and paternal ancestors, which for an example I have just looked at would have given me 31 individuals, instead of just the 5 I was looking for. In other words I would need to delete 26 instead of tagging just 5.

Have your cousin as the Current individual then Go to View>Focus Group at the bottom of window select “Add an Individual and Ancestors” in Ancestor Options box if your cousin is not the person showing click on change and select him then select the number of generations and then Direct Line Ancestors and check any of the boxes for others to include then click ok. Now go to Search>Find Focus Group then press View/Select Focus Group and pick the line you created above and then click on Create List then from the search list go to Options>Advanced Tagging from this window choose Tag and then Change Make changes on # to what ever number you want and then Click Everyone in Search List. The number that you chose should change to what ever number you chose then close the Advanced Tagging Window and there should be an X on the tag number for everyone in the list. Now you can Export only the tagged individuals to another file and then you can go to the new file and delete those that you don’t want in the file and then you can do the descendant reports from that file. Hope that helps a little. And any children of this line? WOW! There has to be a better way. :( On Tue, Mar 27, 2012 at 5:24 PM, Ron Ferguson <[email protected]> wrote: Debbie, In Family View you will see, on the right above the name three small boxes, numbered 1, 2, and 3. These are tag boxes, click on box 1 and this will set the tag for that person. Repeat this for all the ancestors whom you wish to tag. Now go to File>Export To>Legacy File, and on the pop-up screen give it a file name of your choice. On the next screen, select ‘All records with a tag of 1’ and you will have the new .fdb file which can now use to create your report. Seems very hard just to get this kind of report.
