I don't transcribe at all. (I can hear people gasping right now--!) I mean, I have the images a click or two away, and transcription is just another step for error. I do, however, sometimes include information in the census event notes, like "She was 8 years old and attended school during the year." to help with the narrative reports later. (Hence, I don't need to figure out how to turn off the event notes that are full of transcriptions.) --Paula

What I do is attach the census image to everyone in the family. I record the data in an appropriate entry, address, birth, marriage, place. Then I create events for other data mentioned like immigration, naturalization, occupation. I'm wrestling with the idea of transcribing all the data for each person mentioned, but with 900+ people,I'm a little reluctant.
