I get my marriage records from the Lamar County Circuit Court Clerk’s Office in
Purvis, MS so technically you are correct. It is the court not the clerk that
is the repository BUT the repository name is for my use only. It isn’t listed
that way in my source. My source doesn’t list the repository at all so no
problem there. My source looks like this.

Lamar County, Mississippi, Marriage Book D: 190, Alney D. Nichols-Miss Angie
Simmons, 1908.

Sydney,
Per http://www.courtreference.com/Lamar-County-Mississippi-Courts.htm the first
entry should be “Lamar County Mississippi Court Records”.

The “Clerk” is NOT the Repository.
Thanks,

I like the State first in the Master Sources. It seems cumbersome in the
Repository list.

Whenever I change my emails to plain text any list I have automatically gets

You can list them anyway you want. Here is how I have mine:

Lamar County Mississippi Circuit Court Clerk

Marion County Mississippi Circuit Court Clerk

Perry County Mississippi Circuit Court Clerk
Pike County Alabama Circuit Court Clerk

Mississippi Department of Archives and History

South Carolina Department of Archives and History

Georgia Archives [they have a short name!]

Alabama Department of Archives and History

It is actually odd that I list them this way because my master sources ARE
listed state first

I am looking for suggestions on how to list a repository. I have several with
the same name but in different states. Such as Clerk of Court, even
libraries. Is there some way to list them by State first?

thank you,
Sydney Gabel
