Thanks Ron. Good to know some of my sanity's intact! By the way, have you
noticed when minimizing (vs closing) certain screens other than main ones, they
seem to disappear rather than appear on the task bar at the bottom & there's no
way to close out those screens remaining open? Which means I have to do a
restart.
Thanks, Nick.

Nick,

Yes, you are correct. For this reason, many of us put the full address in
the Location Field. We may have other uses for the Address Book, for example
I only use for details of my living family, strangely enough, otherwise
known as an Address Book, where I come from!

Subject: [LegacyUG] ADDRESSES VS LOCATIONS

Hi, I've just begun to familiarize myself w/ the sw & would appreciate
clarification as to what places appear on the Master Location List. As I
understand it, a location is any information prefaced by "in" or entered in
the Place field of an Event. An Address is not a location & will, therefore,
not appear on the Masters location List &, therefore, cannot be mapped. For
example, I have an address where my grandparents lived. If I enter this as
Marriage Info it will not appear on the Master Location List. If I add it as
a unique location to the List, it will not link to any people. However, if I
add it as an Event ie Residence & put the address in the Place field, it
will appear.
I guess there's no way to tell Legacy to include all addresses in the Master
Location List. I assume I should use the address field only for current
info. on living relatives.
Any help you can give is appreciated.
Thanks, Nick.
