I was just commenting as a warning. I have never merged a file with my
legacy database.

I am a believer in NOT downloading and/or merging anything on line into
your genealogy database. Put it in another file if you must; download it as a
pdf and then review and annotate it, do your research, check things out and
if the information is useful - add it in manually yourself ALWAYS thinking
about what you are entering - names, locations, facts, sources. You will
really regret (and have to spend lots of time doing it over and doing it
right) if you take the easy way. I find it really helps to think about what
you are doing every step of the way. The problem with downloading into your
program and/or automatic merging is that is takes out that "editor" or
"eagle eye" aspect. You will also guarantee that your master lists will be a
complete and utter mess. Why you would introduce that mess into your data is
beyond me. Just my 2 cents.

I also noticed a problem with ancestry gedcoms. They place the burial
address under cause of death in Legacy.
