Oh thank you Walt, that is very helpful for me. I am ready to hit the directories :)
From: [email protected] Julia, When citing the city directories (I use Fold3, mostly), I use the SourceWriter and select "directories." SourceWriter then asks for the medium, and I select "online images" and SourceWriter guides me through the rest. The output is delivered in appropriate formatting. Your previous question is not moot, but very valid. The source you are viewing would obviously be Ancestry, but the original source is the directory itself, therefor both should be identified. An example from my sources is: C. E. Howe Addressing and Printing Company, Boyd's Philadelphia Combined City and Business Directory 1921 935; digital images, Footnote.com http://www.footnote.com : accessed 01 May 2011. Both the directory and the the repository are identified.
