Thank you to you and Mike - that's exactly what's happening.  I've had to shut 
my Legacy down and start it back up for these names to appear in the index tab. 
 I went to another tab but that didn't seem to work.

If you have selected to Include Alternate Names and/or Include Married Names, 
new individuals won't show up right away.  If you go to a different tab and 
then back, then they should show up.

This is a known problem which the programmers are working on/
