I don't remember e actly, but a few years ago I discovered there are two 
settings when adding new people. One would update immediately which drove me 
crazy while keypunching 200 people. The other was/is to wait to reindex until 
restart or turn off. I forgot where they were, but awareness of the difference 
may avoid insanity!

The Name Index doesn't update immedieately. Click in the RIN box and then click
back in the Surname box. That should make your latest entries appear.
