Hi Listers, I've been away from genealogy for 3-4 years and have forgotten how some things are done. I have registered version 5. When I started it up, I found it wasn't as current as my most current gedcom file. This was on a backup PC. An electrical storm had killed my other PC, including its hard drive. What I found when I imported the updated gedcom file was 2 things: 1. When I'm not sure of a place I put a ? in front of the name. I.e., ?Chicago. After the update it is spelled ?chicago. 2. While USA remains USA, DK becomes Dk.
Is there an automated way to fix this? If not, is there a way to prevent this? I seem to remember that there is such a way.
