I looked at all the options. I also looked at the master list of addresses
and you have to tag each one separately. I have several hundred families in
a family reunion and I don't want to have to tag each one indivdually. I
also want to be able to send a card addressed to the family - like "John &
Mary Smith"

There are 6 tabs of options for what/where/how/etc for Address Labels.
Are you sure you've looked at them all?

Rather than tag the Individuals you tag the addresses you want to use.
Look at View>Master Lists>Address lists>Mailing and tag the ones you
want. Then check "Only tagged addresses" on the "Who to Print" tab.
