I have Legacy installed on my desktop C-drive as it is by default. It's synced to the 'cloud' through SugarSync and is also available on my laptop.
I have enough space in Dropbox to keep all my multimedia files and source documents and they're linked to Legacy from that location. i.e. from one place on my hard-drive to another. These files sync to the 'cloud' and are also available on my laptop. I can also log in to SugarSync or Dropbox from any location where I have Internet access available and have access to all those files. What you seem to be asking is - Is there a way to keep your "photos, documents, multimedia files" ONLY in the 'cloud' and have Legacy link to them from there. As far as I know that's not possible. You can put together a mish-mash of free cloud services; 5GB here, 2GB there and it might be enough to hold all of your files. For some of them you can also earn more space through referrals. I wrote a list of some of them here: http://www.jgen.ws/jlog/backup/file-backup-sync/ (Scroll down the page.) At low cost (depending) you can also buy more space from the service of your choice, sufficient for your needs. I think in most or all cases, you will still have the files on your computer(s) but as they're synced to the cloud through one or many services you also have direct access to your files from those accounts. Just log in. ---- JL | http://www.jgen.ws/jlog/ On 6/12/2012 4:37 PM, [email protected] wrote: > A general question.... > > With "the CLOUD" becoming all the rage as a location to park your > information vs a traditional hard drive location on your computer does > LEGACY have the capability of being directed to a "CLOUD" location for > photos, documents, multimedia files that might be stored there? > > I use Carbonite as my backup in this regard but don't see how LEGACY can > be directed to access this location.
